PROPERTY HISTORY

Construction and Early Years
The Springfield Flour Mill was constructed in1896. Known for producing Meyer’s Model flour, it quickly became an integral part of the local agricultural industry, producing around 35,000 pounds of flour daily, much of which was exported globally.

Ownership Changes
In 1935, the Colorado Milling and Elevator Company acquired the mill. Later, in 1951, the MFA Milling Company purchased it and converted it into a feed manufacturing and storage facility.

Abandonment
The mill ceased operations around 1974, remaining abandoned for nearly 50 years.

Recent Developments
In May 2022, The Sisters LLC, led by Sheri Perkins and Renee Textor, purchased the property. Their redevelopment plan, called the Sisters Mill Project, aims to transform the site into a restaurant and retail space while addressing environmental contamination and preserving the historic structures.
