The Story Behind the Table

The Table was founded by sisters Sheri Perkins and Renee Textor, lifelong Springfield locals who grew up dreaming of building something together.

Food, family, and hospitality have always been at the center of their lives. What started as a shared love for gathering around the table became a vision for creating a place that feels warm, creative, and deeply connected to community.

Every detail, from the menu to the market to the atmosphere, reflects that heart. As devoted food lovers and natural hosts, Sheri and Renee believe good meals create meaningful moments.

At The Table, guests are not just customers. They are neighbors, friends, and part of the story.

THE PROPERTY AND ITS HISTORY

Built in 1896, the Springfield Flour Mill produced Meyer’s Model flour and became a cornerstone of the local agricultural economy. At its peak, the mill produced nearly 35,000 pounds of flour daily, much of it exported around the world.

In 1935, the Colorado Milling and Elevator Company acquired the mill. In 1951, the MFA Milling Company purchased it and converted it into a feed manufacturing and storage facility.

Operations ceased around 1974, and the property sat vacant for nearly fifty years.

In May 2022, Sheri and Renee purchased the property through The Sisters LLC with a vision to restore and reimagine the space. Their redevelopment effort, known as the Sisters Mill Project, focuses on preserving the historic character of the site while transforming it into a vibrant restaurant and retail destination.

Today, what once produced flour now produces conversation, connection, and community.
